London Calling: A Whirlwind Family Trip for Food, Fun, and a New Mini!
Hey everyone, Maariya here!
What’s better than a family road trip? A family road trip in reverse! A little while ago, my dad, my two sisters, and I packed our bags for a special trip down to London with a very exciting mission: to pick up the newest member of our family – a car!
The Journey Begins
Our adventure started bright and early on the train. There’s something so relaxing about watching the countryside zip by while you’re all together, fuelled by coffee and the buzz of anticipation for the days ahead. We couldn’t wait to get to the city!

Fuelling Up in London
London is a foodie’s paradise, and we definitely made the most of it. We kicked things off with an absolutely incredible brunch. I mean, just look at those pancakes! From sweet treats to savoury eggs benedict, it was the perfect start to our London exploring.

Of course, a trip with my sisters is never complete without lots of laughs and some quality time just hanging out and soaking in the city vibes.
One of the absolute culinary highlights was our dinner at Shrimp & Co. It was an experience! We got kitted out with bibs and gloves and were ready for business.

We dived into a massive platter of the most delicious, garlicky prawns, with fries and mash on the side. It was messy, interactive, and so, so good. If you’re in London and love seafood, you have to check it out!

The Main Event: Meet the Mini!
But the real reason for our trip was finally here. After a few days of fun, it was time to pick up our new ride: a sleek and powerful Mini Cooper JCW (John Cooper Works)!
(Check out the video of our first look at the car!)
Seeing it for the first time was so exciting. The sporty design, the black alloy wheels, and those iconic Union Jack tail lights – it looks absolutely amazing.
And the sound… well, let’s just say it has a bit of a roar!
(Listen to that engine!)
The Road Home
Swapping our train tickets for the driver’s seat, we set off on the journey back home. The drive was the perfect way to end our trip, cruising in the new car and chatting about all the fun we’d had.
From the train tracks to the open road, it was a short trip packed with everything that matters: family, fantastic food, and unforgettable memories. I can’t wait for all the new adventures we’ll have in our Mini!
Cheers, Maariya
