My Temu Experiment: I Ordered a ‘Useless’ Keyring Just to See What Would Happen
You’ve seen the ads. I’ve seen the ads. We’ve all seen the ads for Temu. It’s everywhere online, with its almost unbelievable prices and a seemingly infinite catalogue of gadgets, clothes, and… well, everything.
After weeks of seeing it pop up, my curiosity finally got the better of me. I had to try it. But what do you order for your first time on a site like this? You don’t go for something big or important. You need a low-stakes test purchase. You need something completely and utterly useless.
So, I dived into the “useless keyrings” category. And this is what arrived!
I have to admit, I was actually surprised by the quality of this little thing. It’s made of metal, has a decent weight to it, and the level of detail, from the tiny scope right down to the magazine, is pretty impressive for what it cost.
Now, let’s be honest. Is it a good keyring? Absolutely not. It’s hilariously impractical. It’s far too big and pointy to comfortably fit in a pocket, and it would probably weigh my keys down more than my actual car key does.

So, in that sense, mission ‘useless keyring’ was a complete success!
As for the Temu experience itself? It was straightforward. The item arrived within the estimated time and it was exactly as pictured on the site. My curiosity is satisfied, and I have this wonderfully impractical object to show for it. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it yet – maybe it’ll just be a cool little desk ornament.
